Memories
Well, Hello there!!
My post today, is another poem that was written by me.This poem came about as a result of nothing in particular, but it is probably tinted in influence by the dawn of realization, that often comes along at breaks of day, when the diffused light of the sun makes one look back to a time that now only prevails in the memory of those who are still around.
So, here goes this poem, and I really hope you like it.
"Some bitter, some sweet, some; bitter-sweet,
All reminders, of a distant clime;
Good, bad and nostalgic, are some,
But each, a teardrop, on the cheek of time.
Of times, gone by, and the experiences gained,
Of all the things we've done, time and again;
Of the lessons learnt on our journey so far,
Of times of joy; and times of pain.
Found in each of us, in different ways,
For we are different people, having different memories;
But the feeling we share is just the same,
Like a bird-eye view of varied sceneries.
A mind that gets moulded, quite like clay,
But often goes in the unprecedented direction,
Is the greatest tools of us, Homo sapiens,
Far beyond any prior prediction.
Throwing forward flashes, when least expected,
Instigated by sparks, most unthought of,
Memories come flooding back in ways untold,
At times and in manners, unheard of.
But nevertheless, as the years go by,
And they're all we have left, to hold onto;
Even if second childhood wipes them away,
They're parts of us, our incorrigible residue.
Oblivion is the only one that can control them,
He is the only fear these naughty goblins have,
The fear of losing their battle with Him,
Before each of us transcends, into the skies above."
Here's to the many great memories you have, and hope you have many more!
