Happy New Year Everyone!!

Its that time of the year again, when we are all busy wrapping up. Another year; another season; another month; another chapter in our lives... is drawing to a close.

While the various cultures around the world celebrate the setting in of the New Year in different ways, let us all look back and take a moment to recount the events of the past year.

Many of us have lost ones we love;
Many of us have found that those who promised to be by us, are no longer there.
Many of us have come to the ends of so many roads,
Yet found so many beginnings in the past year.
So many of us have had tears.. Tears of Joy, Anger, Sorrow, Frustration and maybe even tears of uncertainty.
But looking back, I'm sure most of us can say that we are no more who we were when the year had set in.

As the year comes to a close, let us:

Be thankful for all the lessons learnt, the experiences gained, the people who've been with us through the dark hours and the bright ones; the victories achieved and the defeats that have come our way.

Be humbled by the realization that we are among the lucky few who have made it into 2015.

Keep in our prayers, those who are no more with us and those who are not fortunate enough to enjoy the many comforts we do.

So, together, let us welcome 2015, while keeping in mind that we must:
Look to the past and learn from it; look at the present and do what we can; and look to the future with the hope that we can leave it better than when we enter it.

 To a better tomorrow.

Hola!!!

If you have been reading my posts before this, I definitely owe you an apology for not writing here for almost one third of a month. If you're new to my website, Hi!! I hope you like it, and if you have any comments/ suggestions or complaints, do let me know! (I'll do my best to sort it out.. I promise! :) )

So yeah, Readers, I'm very sorry for being away for the past few days... You see, with the holiday season in full swing all around, I had to prep for the finals that'll be around soon, the preliminaries before that, blah, blah, blah... Oh and I also needed to spend time with my family.

Basically, I hope all of you have had a Fantastic Christmas, and been somehow associated with Santa -by either being a Santa to someone; Or by having someone visit you as Santa. I'm not going to wish you for New Year in advance yet, as I should (hopefully, if I don't get too busy in the meanwhile) be around to wish you on 31st.

Coming back to my post of today, since, like I mentioned earlier, I'd been spending time with my family, (Note: It's not that I don't spend time with them otherwise, but since its the festive season with all the halls all decked up, why not use the phrase, right? :D ) I decided that the next post on blog would be on the same topic.
I'd planned to make this happen in one post, the apology and the actual post; but since I've already said so much in this one, I'm going to make the one on Family, a post by itself.

Thank you once again for being here and reading my blog. Take care of yourself and your loved ones, for you never know their worth until they're not by you anymore.

Belated Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Memories

Well, Hello there!!

My post today, is another poem that was written by me.This poem came about as a result of nothing in particular, but it is probably tinted in influence by the dawn of realization, that often comes along at breaks of day, when the diffused light of the sun makes one look back to a time that now only prevails in the memory of those who are still around.
So, here goes this poem, and I really hope you like it.

"Some bitter, some sweet, some; bitter-sweet,
All reminders, of a distant clime;
Good, bad and nostalgic, are some,
But each, a teardrop, on the cheek of time.

Of times, gone by, and the experiences gained,
Of all the things we've done, time and again;
Of the lessons learnt on our journey so far,
Of times of joy; and times of pain.

Found in each of us, in different ways,
For we are different people, having different memories;
But the feeling we share is just the same,
Like a bird-eye view of varied sceneries.

A mind that gets moulded, quite like clay,
But often goes in the unprecedented direction,
Is the greatest tools of us, Homo sapiens,
Far beyond any prior prediction.

Throwing forward flashes, when least expected,
Instigated by sparks, most unthought of,
Memories come flooding back in ways untold,
At times and in manners, unheard of.

But nevertheless, as the years go by,
And they're all we have left, to hold onto;
Even if second childhood wipes them away,
They're parts of us, our incorrigible residue.

Oblivion is the only one that can control them,
He is the only fear these naughty goblins have,
The fear of losing their battle with Him,
Before each of us transcends, into the skies above."

Here's to the many great memories you have, and hope you have many more!

Hi!!

Today's post is something of a throwback. I'd written this poem on the last day of school, and I thought of sharing it with you.

It is not often that we actually come to terms with the fact, that something that has been an integral part of our lives for long, will no longer be there. Yet, it is when we finally learn to move on, that we make the first definition of ourselves.

So, here goes the poem:

"I've known for long, that this day would come;
Yet I tried my best to forget.
But I know this is difficult for some,
If not more, for the rest.

For one last time, I pack my bag,
Today it has a few books.
In the hallway, everyone is quiet,
Even mere acquaintances exchange looks.

Our minds play in synchrony,
We know we're about to leave.
Who knows what the future holds?
When again, will we meet?

Yet as we move out of this place,
That once we called our own,
Some turn away with teary eyes,
While others overtly groan.

Into a land, of hope and love,
Do we all hope to go;
But we must remember that the sun can't warm,
Without a little snow.

And thus when I walk out of here,
I'm pleased as I can be,
Not that school has ended,
But it managed to make me, me."

It has been a long time since I wrote this poem, and if nothing else, I hope it helps you go back to your days of schooling and puts a smile on your face.

Have a fantastic day, everyone!

Heyo!

I'm starting a weekly #momentoftheweek tag, on any one day of the week henceforth.
So here goes my first #momentoftheweek :

When you come home from a long, tiring, annoying day and your pet is at the door, waiting for you.

>The look of excitement on my pet's face made me forget the hard day.

Well, if anyone has any suggestions, do let me know.. or if you want me to post one of your "Moments" of the day or of the week, please comment!

Until next time, then, folks!

Hello!!

I'm back with a post, and this is something I witnessed a couple of days ago. I thought it was a very nice little incident, and thus, here I share it with you.

So, this girl I know, had been on a visit to a creche for children from the weaker sections of the society. The little kids there spoke only the colloquial language and not the formal dialect taught in school. My friend, who tried her best to mingle with the kids, felt very awkward and bad about not being able to talk to them, without a translator.
Her group had been hanging around with a bunch of the little kids, and she was trying her best to interact with them, only visibly unsuccessfully. Then, one of the quietest kids in that group came forward, took her hand and led her out into the play arena of the creche. Although she went willingly, she was nervous, about how she would respond, were he to ask or say something to her.
On reaching the play arena, the boy left her hand and ran to the swing. He beckoned my friend to follow, and soon, they were wordlessly swinging net to each other, without a word passing between them. at the end of ten minutes, they'd both begun using sign language and speaking to each other, laughing and giggling endlessly.
It is not that either could not speak. Just that their speech was alien to the other. Yet, nothing stopped basic human nature and the kindness of one human being from flowing to another, without channels. This incident was not a great one; even then to those who understand it, it's greatness is beyond measure.

I hope you have a really nice day (and if today is nearly over, may you have a nice day tomorrow!). Until I come back with another post, Au revoir!!
