Hi!!
Today's post is something of a throwback. I'd written this poem on the last day of school, and I thought of sharing it with you.
It is not often that we actually come to terms with the fact, that something that has been an integral part of our lives for long, will no longer be there. Yet, it is when we finally learn to move on, that we make the first definition of ourselves.
So, here goes the poem:
"I've known for long, that this day would come;
Yet I tried my best to forget.
But I know this is difficult for some,
If not more, for the rest.
For one last time, I pack my bag,
Today it has a few books.
In the hallway, everyone is quiet,
Even mere acquaintances exchange looks.
Our minds play in synchrony,
We know we're about to leave.
Who knows what the future holds?
When again, will we meet?
Yet as we move out of this place,
That once we called our own,
Some turn away with teary eyes,
While others overtly groan.
Into a land, of hope and love,
Do we all hope to go;
But we must remember that the sun can't warm,
Without a little snow.
And thus when I walk out of here,
I'm pleased as I can be,
Not that school has ended,
But it managed to make me, me."
It has been a long time since I wrote this poem, and if nothing else, I hope it helps you go back to your days of schooling and puts a smile on your face.
Have a fantastic day, everyone!
